On Tuesday, October 15, 2024 industry specialists Leaders in Sport held their annual awards ceremony, Leaders Sports Awards, to recognise and celebrate the very best in the sport industry.

The ceremony, hosted at the iconic BAFTA 195 Piccadilly venue in London, saw individuals and organisations recognised across nine categories, including the first edition of the ‘Global Agency’ category.

The inaugural ‘Global Agency’ award, designed to celebrate the leading agency in global professional sports and entertainment, was won by SPORTFIVE.

On the night, the Hamburg-headquartered agency was commended for their work as a full-service sports marketing agency that strategically, commercially, and creatively connects brands, rights-holders, media platforms, and fans to enable and create impactful partnerships in sports.

“We are incredibly honoured to have received this award from some of the leading minds in the industry, and beyond proud of the exceptional work that the SPORTFIVE team around the globe have delivered to achieve this honour.

With a worldwide network of over 1,300 local experts, across five continents, SPORTFIVE were also recognised for their truly global reach in the industry.

SPORTFIVE were first shortlisted for the award in August, alongside fellow sports marketing agencies, GMR Marketing, Octagon and Ten Toes.

The judges behind this shortlist sought to not only recognise agencies for the global scale of their work, but also to assess their positive impact on the sports industry throughout the period of May 2023 to May 2024.

This period has seen SPORTFIVE empower its clients to leverage the power of sport through several key services including commercial sales, internationalisation, activation, media and production services.

The year saw many highlights, including The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, the launch of EA SPORTS FC 24, brokering Adobe’s title partnership of the Women’s FA Cup and collaborating with global sporting talent including Jon Rahm, Sam Kerr, Jurgen Klopp and Alexander Zverev.

Stefan Felsing, Chief Executive Officer, SPORTFIVE, said: “To be recognised as the leading agency in global professional sports and entertainment is an outstanding achievement for everyone in the SPORTFIVE family.

“We are incredibly honoured to have received this award from some of the leading minds in the industry, and beyond proud of the exceptional work that the SPORTFIVE team around the globe have delivered to achieve this honour.

“As well as thanking every SPORTFIVE team member across our 60+ offices and five continents, we would also like to thank our partners and clients, without whose trust and collaboration our work would not be possible. Thank you.”
