Jürgen Klopp Signs with MagentaTV for FIFA World Cup 26™ Coverage
The collaboration brings a true crowd favourite back to the screen, a world-class coach who stands for passion, authenticity and unrivalled football expertise. With this move, Telekom secures another blockbuster signing for its “national team of experts,” uniting some of the most recognisable faces in the game.
Following the confirmed signings of Thomas Müller, Johannes B. Kerner, and Wolff Fuss, Klopp becomes the fourth high-profile addition to MagentaTV’s all-star line-up, which will bring unique insights and energy to audiences throughout the tournament.
“Jürgen Klopp embodies passion and enthusiasm for football in its purest form. That’s why it’s great that he has chosen us to work as a TV expert again,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Telekom. “His deep understanding of the game, his fire in analysis and his humour make him unique. We offer viewers at MagentaTV the best expertise and great entertainment around the clock with outstanding diversity of content. And the combination of experts Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp is already world-class.”
For Klopp, the return to the screen is a special opportunity, “I’m really excited to experience this World Cup again from an expert’s perspective. At the same time, I know that this marathon tournament will present its own unique challenges. At MagentaTV, we want to inspire people with the right mix of football expertise and entertainment and always be close to the action.”
MagentaTV will broadcast all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup 26™ live, 44 of them exclusively, across three channels, with exclusive analysis, innovative technology, and expert commentary designed to bring fans closer to the world’s biggest football event.
The FIFA World Cup 26™ will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026 in the USA, Mexico and Canada, with the group stage draw scheduled for 5 December 2025 in Washington, D.C.
The agreement was facilitated by projectFIVE, the talent and brand consulting division of SPORTFIVE, which represents Jürgen Klopp globally. The partnership underlines SPORTFIVE’s commitment to connecting world-class talent with leading media and brand opportunities around the world.
