Borussia Dortmund and SPORTFIVE extend partnership

Borussia Dortmund and SPORTFIVE are extending their successful partnership ahead of schedule until June 30, 2031. The global sports marketing agency has been supporting the eight-time German Bundesliga champions since 1999 in all marketing matters, such as sponsor acquisition, the expansion of partnerships, and the marketing of the hospitality areas in SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

BVB and SPORTFIVE have also set ambitious growth targets for national and international marketing in the coming years. In addition to the existing focus topics, SPORTFIVE will take on further marketing mandates in the areas of women's football and Esports.

"We decided to extend our partnership with SPORTFIVE ahead of schedule due to the successful, cooperative partnership and are convinced that we have found the best solution for Borussia Dortmund, also in view of the upcoming marketing challenges," explained Hans Joachim Watzke, Chairman of the BVB Management Board: "We are pleased to continue to have a strong and reliable partner at our side in SPORTFIVE for the long term."

In terms of BVB's international marketing, the main focus in the coming years will be on expanding partnerships in the target market of the USA, where the BVB team will hold a summer tour in 2023. In 2026, the USA will also co-host the FIFA World Cup with Canada and Mexico. "SPORTFIVE is already represented at several locations in the USA. SPORTFIVE's global sales structures and long-standing expertise will help us to further advance our internationalization," said Carsten Cramer, managing director of Borussia Dortmund.
