EA reveals changes for FIFA 23 Esports scene

Electronic Arts has announced an enhanced, reimagined FIFA 23 esports program.

The main feature is the first-ever EA SPORTS Cup.

Players representing the world’s top esports organizations and professional football clubs will compete in 2v2 competition through three months of fixtures, commencing on Monday, 17 October.

You can tune in weekly on the EA SPORTS FIFA Twitch and EA Sports FIFA Esports YouTube channels.

Up for the Cup

Ajax, Atlanta United, Blue United, Complexity Gaming, DUX Gaming, EXCEL, Team Falcons, Fnatic, FOKUS, Team FUTWIZ, Guild Esports, Team Heretics, Manchester City, MGCF, MKERS, PSG, RBLZ Gaming, Riders, SPQR and TG.NIP are the teams participating in the EA Sports Cup.

The EA Sports Cup will climax on 16-21 January, where the champion will be crowned, and two teams will advance to the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023.

The EA SPORTS Cup is just one piece of the FIFA 23 Global Series, with this season’s competitive season providing a robust tournament structure for players in 70 nations to become their own champion.

Traditional 1v1 competition returns as all will compete on the Road to the FIFAe World Cup 2023 presented by EA SPORTS. Online 1v1 competition started with the launch of the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition’s September 27 worldwide release. Spanning the next ten months, competitors will participate in a multitude of 1v1 tournaments.

The FGS 23 online qualifiers and majors are officially presented by PlayStation and will exclusively be played on the PlayStation®5 consoles.
