As one of Germany’s oldest football clubs, Lower Saxony’s Hannover 96 not only looks back on a rich history but is also one of the region’s most important ambassadors.
The club’s greatest successes include claiming the German Championship in 1938 and 1954 as well as the sensational cup win in 1992 – as the only ever second-league team to win this title at that time.
Since 2002 Hannover 96 has again been amongst German football’s premier teams and has set its sights on replicating these earlier successes.
The stunning AWD Arena in the heart of the city offers the “reds” the perfect backdrop to achieve just this. This arena which was converted for the 2006 World Cup now holds 49,000 spectators, including 41,000 seats and numerous hospitality options in the 29 boxes and a total of 1,800 business seats.
The ever-growing number of spectators, the amount of season ticket holders and the numerous fan clubs are proof enough that Hannover 96 is back on track.
