The sponsor’s importance for the club both in monetary and other terms forms the basis for the high level of acceptance which this communications instrument enjoys in all sectors of society and amongst all target groups. The clearly structured sponsor pyramid as well as a restriction on the number of sponsors and, with this, minimisation of the various advertising stimuli to which television viewers and event visitors are subjected not only helps calm the match environment but also optimises the effectiveness for each individual sponsor.
